About Me

During business hours I am a tradesman.

By night I am a martial artist currently training and occasionally competing in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I originally started training Tae Kwon Do towards the end of high school then moved on to Wing Chun Kung Fu before finally finding BJJ, a real cerebral martial art. It’s benefits on my life are too many to mention. I wouldn’t be the same person without it.

Any spare chance I get, I am a photographer. I almost always have a camera with me be it a fun 35mm film camera or my workhorse, the Canon 5D MKII and a bag full of bits and pieces. I love to experiment and explore with my photography and I’m on a quest to travel as far and wide as possible whilst recording the places I visit in the most flattering way possible.

I specialise in portrait and landscape photography but I certainly dont limit myself and enjoy all types of photography from street to macro. To me, photography is as much about creativity, exploration and fun as it is about pixels, light wave algorithms and tech gear wizardry.

My wife Kate and I live in Brisbane, Queensland Australia with our fur baby Rahni - You can see her featured in the gallery. We have been married for 5 years now and together for 10. We share a love of travel and fitness and we endeavor to take at least 1 trip overseas every year, whether it is a big one across the world or a smaller one within Asia.

My wife is half Dutch and half Malaysian giving us access to two very different cultures. I must admit, my favourite part of the world to visit is Asia. The variety of cultures and cuisines in the Asia-Pacific region is quite breathtaking and having them so close to Australia is a benefit I try to make the most of.

Kate - Courage

Kate has ongoing medical issues since she was a teenager and underwent her 6th surgery in July 2011. She is strong, fit and determined to be an inspiration to others with her condition and I hope to document her progress not only for our benefit but to help educate and support others who may be going through similar issues. Stay tuned for more developments in the BLOG section.
