DIY Camera Bag Insert
I’m not a fan of the standard camera bags you can buy everywhere these days. They are either cheap and ugly or trendy and expensive and they all scream “Camera gear – Steal me!” I thought I’d make a DIY padded camera insert for my gear so it could go in any bag I happened to be using at the time. Continue reading
Igor Cunha – AFBJJ Aus Cup 2012 NoGi Champ

Igor Cunha is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt who trains and teaches out of Nova Forca BJJ, Perth WA. I was motivated to highlight Igor by the way he carried himself at the Aus Cup on the weekend and the enthusiasm and thanks he showed towards me for capturing his win. Just watch how happy he is after his win in the video after the jump… Continue reading
Packing my camera bag for Cambodia – So much for traveling light!
As with past trips, I was planning to travel light. Just some clothes and camera gear in a backpack and I’m gold. But once I sit down and start to pack, I realise I’ll need more stuff if I plan to make the most of the places I visit and to capture everything on my to-do list.
It’s a balancing act where bringing certain gear means I also need to bring the peripherals for it too; If I bring the Speedlite, I also need to bring batteries, battery charger, wireless triggers and light meter. If I bring a film camera then I also need the film. But if I leave something behind, will there be a situation where I’m kicking myself for not bringing something? Continue reading
Fed 3 35mm Film Rangefinder Mini Review

It was quite a challenge getting used to the small, dark viewfinder and because it’s a full manual focus camera, quite a few shots had soft or missed focus while I was getting used to it. Everlook Photography is awesome and generous.
I’m linking a couple of ‘workflow’ posts here from one of my current favourite photographers – Everlook Photography. He has very generously laid out his process of editing images. A lot of photographers would never give away their secrets like this, there’s a specific photographer I asked recently about his editing and he was quite evasive. So all the more thankful for someone as skilled as Mr Everlook to let us look under his hood.

New HDR Landscape. Miami Beach at Sunset
Taken this afternoon looking north towards the Gold Coast from Miami Beach, Queensland Australia. It’s only a 2 frame HDR as I had to make an emergency dash when the tide rushed me. Continue reading
